Frequently asked questions.
Do you RECOMMEND learning violin online?
Learning the violin through online video lessons is a wonderful way to develop your musical skills in the comfort of your own home. Along with being much cheaper, this option is significantly easier on busy schedules, and adds a level of flexibility that is not possible when taking lessons at a studio. Personally, I have noticed that my online students progress and flourish just as quickly as my in person students.
I’m an Adult, Do you think i can still learn the violin?
Absolutely! Learning the violin as an adult is an extremely rewarding experience that helps you develop a closer relationship to the music you love, destress your mind and body from the tolls of our busy daily life, as well as exercise your brain by learning new skills and accomplishing new goals. I love working with adults and developing relationships to help them achieve their goals in the ways that they learn best. Although you are less likely to become a concert violinist if you start the violin as an adult, the beginning process goes much quicker for adults, and you will be playing melodies that you recognize in a couple months.
Where Should i get my violin?
If you don’t already have a violin, the first step is buying one. There are often a variety of local violin shops that sell instruments as well as options to purchase a violin online. Your first violin doesn’t need to be expensive, as your first steps will be learning the postures needed to play which are the same regardless of the violin you buy. Once you reach out, I can help you find the perfect violin for you based on your preferences.
What do i need to prepare for my first lesson?
All you need for your first lesson is a violin. Everything needed after that will be discussed during lessons, but you can expect to spend as little as $20 on supplies for the first year of lessons.
